Inquiry that shapes ideas
and industries.
Indian Academy Degree College – Autonomous (IADC-A), one of the flagship institutes of IAGI is a deemed Research Center in Life Sciences under the Bengaluru North University (BNU). Recognition of a research center at the Indian Academy School of Management Sciences (IASMS), the other flagship institution is in the offing.
Research is considered the pinnacle of a student’s education and plays a dynamic role in enhancing the quality of education. IAGI strongly believes in promoting research and intellectual contribution by providing a conducive academic environment, thereby continually improving the academic standards of faculty and students on an incessant basis. IAGI actively promotes research and inculcates a research culture by encouraging faculty members and students to engage in research in emerging areas, which helps them develop highly valued research competencies. Many faculty members actively pursue research in their areas of interest and competence by engaging in various major and minor research projects funded by IAGI as well as from other sources, including UGC, DST, CSIR and DAE.
The pursuit of research at IAGI is guided by the Research Advisory Council, comprising eminent academicians and industrialists. The council guides in framing research policy and programs across all disciplines. To encourage the scientific temperament of the faculty members and students, all research work at IAGI is facilitated and monitored by various committees, including the Research Ethics Committee, Publication Overseeing Committee, Research, Innovation, and Consultancy Council, and Safety and Hazardous Committee.
IAGI boasts of good infrastructural facilities to facilitate the progress of research across various disciplines. The UGC approval of 2(f) and 12 (B) status is leveraged to facilitate and optimize the research productivity. The institution has been proactive in inspiring its faculty and students to undertake collaborative and interdisciplinary research, especially through the MoUs and collaborations with other institutions and industries, which result in fusing knowledge streams of various disciplines and fields.
To provide a fillip to basic and advanced research in the area of Life Sciences, IAGI has set up a dedicated research facility (Indian Academy Central Life Sciences Research; IACLSR). Currently, IACLSR is actively engaged in R&D activities in the area of Nano-Biosensor with applications in Environmental safety, Food Contamination, Agricultural Microbiology, and Health Sciences.
IADC-A organizes many research-promoting activities at the National and International levels, benefiting the students and faculty not only from IAGI but also from other institutions in India and overseas nations.
