Examination System (NEP batch)

The Under-Graduate programme has 8 Semesters Students are assessed throughout each semester and examined at the end of semester 

There are two components in the semester wise assessment and evaluation process:

  • Internal: Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) for 20 / 25 / 40 marks.
  • External: Semester Examination (SE) at the end of the semester for  50/ 60 marks.

Semester Examination

  • The final semester examinations for odd Semesters (I/III/V) Semesters will be conducted in the month of November/December. 
  • The final semester examinations for even Semesters (II/IV/VI) Semesters will be conducted in May/June
  • The duration of one semester is 90 working days. 
  • Minimum of 75% of attendance in each subject is compulsory to appear for the semester examinations. 
  • It is compulsory for all the students to pay semester examination fee. 
  • Students with less than 75% attendance in any subject will not be permitted to appear for the semester examination for that respective subject. 
  • Students who have not paid the semester examination fee will not be permitted to appear for the semester examinations. 
  • Hall tickets will only be given to the students when they have paid the fees and have qualified the required minimum percentage of attendance. 

 

Registration: A student should register himself / herself for the Semester Examinations by paying the prescribed fee.

Duration: The Semester Examination will be of 3 Hours duration for each subject.

Valuation: There is a single valuation followed by review for Under-Graduate and double valuation for Post Graduate examinations. Centralized valuation is carried out for the Semester examinations.

Maximum duration to complete the Course: Twice the period of the course from the date of admission. 

Passing Criteria :(i) The minimum for a pass in each Theory/ Practical is 35%. (ii) The Aggregate minimum for pass in each paper is 40% including Continuous Internal Assessment. (iii) The student must have obtained a total of 50% in aggregate of all the papers in each semester to be declared as pass for Master’s Degree.
