Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology is an undergraduate program that combines the fields of Biochemistry and Microbiology. This program spans three to four years and is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in both Biochemistry and Microbiology, as well as the practical skills necessary to work in these fields.

The microbiology component of the program covers topics such as the classification of microorganisms, microbial physiology, pathogenic microorganisms, and microbial ecology. The programs offer internships or cooperative education opportunities that allow students to gain real-world experience in research labs, biotech companies, clinical laboratories, or healthcare institutions. Students typically have the flexibility to choose elective courses to tailor their education to their specific interests within Biochemistry and Microbiology. The program provides students with a foundation of scientific knowledge and experimental skills in the areas of iochemistry and Microbiology by an in-depth understanding leading to the exploration of knowledge in the areas of Health, Medicine and Environment. Students of the program will study mechanisms of life at the molecular level with profound basics on chemistry &amp; physics, structure &amp; function of macromolecules, enzymes enzyme kinetics, analytical biochemistry and metabolism. In addition the students would also get exposed to microbial diversity, microbial physiology, food and industrial / agricultural microbial applications. The combination helps in understanding the advanced concepts of molecular biology, microbial genetics, OMICS Biology, drug designing, disease diagnostics and immunology. The program is aimed to promote academic excellence by building sound scientific knowledge and adequate practical exposure in various fields of Biochemistry and Microbiology through regular lectures, laboratory sessions, workshops, projects, seminars, conferences, guest lectures, industrial visits and several co-curricular activities. It would also enhance the understanding of human health &amp; disease including the role played by environmental factors, lifestyle and cultural practices by encouraging students to indulge in research in the broad area of Life Sciences. The program will also equip students in acquiring skills for effective scientific communication like publications in scholarly journals and presentations in various National and International conferences and workshops.
